What This Course Is About

Overview

Some people speak and the room settles. Others make much the same point and it passes unremarked. The difference is presence — the ability to communicate value, project confidence and influence the decisions that matter.

Through interactive microlearning, this course builds the skills to project authority and authenticity in professional settings: what executive presence is and why it is essential, the key behaviours that define it, how to build it deliberately, and how to hold it under pressure — in conflict, in remote working environments, and in a new role. A run of case studies analyses the challenges in context, and fifteen microvideos answer the questions learners actually ask, from ‘I’ve been told I am too passive’ to how to keep your presence without micromanaging your team.

There are 26 learning units in total, roughly three hours of study, delivered as 15-minute SCORM microlearning units alongside 15 videos running to 49 minutes. A personalised needs assessment opens the course and a knowledge checkpoint closes it. By the end you will have developed a solid executive presence, enabling you to influence decisions and lead with confidence, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Skills You’ll Build

What You’ll Learn

  • 1 Define what executive presence actually is, and why it is essential in professional settings.
  • 2 Communicate value so that your contribution is heard, recognised and acted on.
  • 3 Project authority and authenticity at the same time, without overplaying either.
  • 4 Apply the key behaviours that define a strong presence, and build them deliberately.
  • 5 Hold your ground in conflict situations and stay professional under pressure.
  • 6 Carry your presence into remote and hybrid working environments, where it reads differently.
  • 7 Establish yourself quickly when you move into a new team, role or environment.
  • 8 Work with your natural style — introverted, passive or self-effacing — and build towards boldness.
  • 9 Lead without micromanaging, keeping your authority while giving your team room to work.
  • 10 Respond constructively to non-constructive feedback, and know how to find good training or coaching.
