Workshop Brief Description

Recognize phlebotomy instruments, venipuncture sets (vacuum tube, butterfly, and Syringe).

Troubleshoot common issues (missed vein, hematoma, anxious patients).

Learn the step-by-step venipuncture workflow on simulation arms.

Introduce the type of blood specimens (plasma, serum, and whole blood).

Review safety procedures and how to use safety engineering devices.

Review order of draw, tube additives, mixing/inversion, labeling.

Meet the instructor

Oday Alubaidi

Oday has been a content phlebotomy professional since 1998. He has a bachelor’s in clinical microbiology and a high diploma in clinical laboratory and has been teaching clinical laboratory and phlebotomy for over 12 years in Ontario, Canada. Oday enjoys teaching all levels and all ages. He looks forward to sharing his love and passion for phlebotomy with all students to develop their knowledge and skills.
